shannon jones is a furniture designer, maker, and artist from southern wisconsin. she completed her masters of fine arts in furniture design at the rhode island school of design in 2022. she now runs the visible futures lab at the school of visual arts.
she works mostly in wood, metal, and neon and is broadly inspired by the landscape of the american midwest and the vernacular design of the region. she is interested in the tension between “natural” and “unnatural” materials, collected ephemera of all kinds, neon signs, postcard + letter writing, and the american environmental movement.
